March 23rd is National Puppy Day! A woman named Colleen Paige declared the first National Puppy Day in 2006. The purpose of the National Puppy Day is to celebrate the unconditional love and joy that puppies bring to our lives and to rescue the ones who need a good home. The official motto of National Puppy Day is, “Adopt instead of shop!”
To celebrate National Puppy Day, give a puppy a hug, donate to your local animal rescue, or even adopt a dog from your local shelter!
The ASPCA does major campaigning on behalf of our furry friends and is always in need of donations. Make a donation and help rescue homeless animals.
Thinking of adopting and providing shelter to a homeless animal? ASPCA Adopt is a great place to start looking.
Adopt a Pet is an excellent site to help you find the perfect pet to adopt from your local community.
One of our favorites for donations or adoption of a pet is the Scituate Animal Shelter, because it is local to us and is a non-profit, NO-KILL shelter.
