Puppy Mill Rescue
Wednesday, September 3, 2008 8:42
More than 1,000 puppies have a new lease on life following their discovery on Saturday, August 23, 2008 in a large puppy mill breeding facility tucked away in the backwoods of West Virginia.
Best Friends Animal Society has been on site working with local law enforcement officials, the Humane Society of Parkersburg and the Humane Society of the United States, and began rescuing scores of dogs from the Whispering Oaks Kennels.
Best Friends works with members — and with humane groups, individuals and entire communities — to set up spay/neuter, shelter, foster and adoption programs in neighborhoods, cities, and states around the country.
How many other Puppy Mills are out there that have not been discovered? Let’s do what we can to prevent this cruelty to animals.
