February is National Pet Dental Health Month. Here at Zoomin Groomin, we believe that good dental hygiene is an important component to your pet's overall health.
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), "Periodontal disease is the most common clinical condition in cats and dogs even though it's completely preventable." Not brushing can lead to a build-up of plaque, which is the cause of periodontal disease. If a dental infection is left untreated, it can spread to other organs and potentially become life threatening.
Signs that your pet may have dental issues include bad breath, discolored teeth, red swollen gums and difficulty eating chow or other hard foods. Brushing your pet's teeth should be part of your daily routine. There are also a number of products available that do "double duty", such as toys and chews that are fun for your pet, yet also help to clean their teeth.
Our Pet Spa Package covers all bases - from tail to toes to pearly whites - with thorough cleansing, fluff dry, brush out, feet and pads trimmed, nails trimmed, ear cleaning and the all-important teeth cleaning.
